2. Daniel Yaw Owusu
Daniel Yaw Owusu is a respected fisheries practitioner and stakeholder representative with extensive experience in artisanal fisheries governance, advocacy, and community-based resource management in Ghana. As a senior member of the National
Fishers Association of Ghana (NAFAG), he has played a key role in representing the interests of small-scale fishers at local, national, and regional levels, engaging constructively with government institutions, development partners, and civil society organizations. Mr. Owusu has been actively involved in policy dialogues and consultative processes on fisheries management reforms, co-management arrangements, compliance, and livelihood sustainability.
He has contributed to stakeholder coordination efforts aimed at improving fisheries governance, reducing conflict, and promoting responsible fishing practices. His leadership within NAFAG reflects a strong commitment to safeguarding fisher livelihoods, strengthening collective action, and ensuring that the voices of artisanal fishers meaningfully inform national fisheries policies and programmes.
